UPSSSC Inter Level Mains 2026: 1784 Posts, VDO and Gram Panchayat Officer, Apply 10 Nov to 1 Dec

UPSSSC has opened the first big mains of the PET 2025 cycle for Class 12 candidates. Advertisement No. 26-Exam/2026, published on 16 October 2026, covers 1,784 posts across 12 post lines in nine departments. Two posts make up most of it: Gram Vikas Adhikari (Samaj Kalyan), 525 and Gram Panchayat Officer, 508.

You cannot apply on a fresh registration. The form opens only for people who sat PET 2025 and have a score card, and you log in with that PET registration number. The window runs 10 November to 1 December 2026. The fee is Rs 25 for every category.

We read the 39-page Hindi advertisement on upsssc.gov.in page by page. The numbers below come from its tables, not from a summary. Where a figure is missing in the PDF, we say so.

Post-wise vacancies

Level 2 pays Rs 19,900 to 63,200. Level 3 pays Rs 21,700 to 69,100. The PDF marks some lines permanent (Bhumi Arjan Amin, Sahkari Krishi Paryavekshak, Saraniyak, Samaj Kalyan Paryavekshak, Gram Panchayat Adhikari, Farm Lipik, Bikri Karta) and others temporary (Vanijya Kar Amin, both Storekeeper lines, Grihmata, Gram Vikas Adhikari). Temporary here is the department's post status, not a contract job.

The category totals we print, OBC 448 and EWS 144, are what the rows add up to. A few websites show 425 and 167. Add the rows yourself and you get our figure.

The Commission says the numbers can go up or down under UP reservation rules. That warning is in every UPSSSC advertisement. Treat 1,784 as the working figure.

Horizontal seats inside those numbers

Women get 47 seats in Vanijya Kar Amin, 37 in Bhumi Arjan Amin, 105 in Gram Vikas Adhikari and 75 in Gram Panchayat Adhikari. Ex-servicemen get 26 in Gram Vikas Adhikari, 11 in Vanijya Kar Amin and 9 in Bhumi Arjan Amin. Dependants of freedom fighters get 10 in Gram Vikas Adhikari. Outstanding sportspersons get 10 there too.

Divyang seats are marked by sub-type. Gram Vikas Adhikari has 7 for low vision, 7 for hard of hearing and 7 for one-arm, dwarfism and acid attack survivors. Gram Panchayat Adhikari shows zero in every disability column. If you are a PwBD candidate aiming at GPO, read that table before you count on a reserved seat.

UP women must use a caste certificate issued from the father's side. A certificate from the husband's family is not accepted.

Who can apply

PET 2025 first. Shortlisting for the mains is on PET 2025 normalised score. Candidates whose PET result is under investigation (marked UI or provisional) can apply provisionally, and their fate follows the Commission's decision on that inquiry.

Class 12. Every post asks for the Intermediate exam of Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, UP, or an equivalent. A degree is not needed. A graduate can still apply on the Class 12 base.

CCC for three posts. Gram Panchayat Adhikari, Gram Vikas Adhikari and Samaj Kalyan Paryavekshak need the NIELIT CCC or an equivalent government-recognised computer certificate. Together that is 1,170 posts. If your CCC result is not out by 1 December 2026, you are not eligible for those three. The other nine lines do not ask for CCC.

Experience for two tiny posts. Farm Lipik needs three years of farm work. Bikri Karta needs three years of selling in a firm or government department. Both need working Hindi in Devanagari.

Preference. Two years in the Territorial Army or an NCC B certificate gives preference in a tie for most posts. For Gram Panchayat Adhikari, a rural background is a third preference point. For Sahkari Krishi Paryavekshak, cooperative training from a recognised college is listed.

Domicile. Non-UP candidates may apply but are treated as unreserved. Ex-servicemen must be released by 1 December 2026 to claim the quota. Serving central or state employees need an NOC when asked.

Age

Most posts: 18 to 40 on 1 July 2026 (the calendar year of the advertisement). Farm Lipik is the odd one: 21 to 30. SC, ST and OBC get the relaxation the UP Government notifies. Serving UP Government employees get five years. Recipients of the Mukhyamantri Fellowship get age relief under the January 2026 rules. Date of birth is taken only from the High School certificate.

Fee and the payment trap

The fee is Rs 25 (zero application fee plus Rs 25 processing) for UR, OBC, SC and ST alike. Pay by credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI or SBI e-challan.

The form is not complete until the bank reconciles the payment. If you paid and the form does not appear, use Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification under Applicant Segment. The Commission gives a seven-day grace to 8 December 2026 for this. After that date you cannot print the form.

A separate mains exam fee comes later, only from shortlisted candidates, before the admit card. The amount is not in this PDF.

Corrections are allowed till 8 December for address, EWS and horizontal categories, qualification entries and marital status. Nothing else can be changed. Divyang candidates should re-mark their disability sub-type because the government re-identified posts under orders up to April 2026.

Selection: PET, then a 100-mark mains

1. Shortlist. 15 times the vacancies in each category, on PET 2025 normalised score, with everyone at the cut-off included.
2. Mains. One paper, 100 objective questions, 100 marks, two hours, one-fourth negative for a wrong answer.
3. Document check and post allotment. You give post preferences at the record check. The Commission allots posts on merit, preference, qualification and age.

There is no interview. Group C posts in UP are filled without interview under the 2017 rules.

If the mains runs in more than one shift, scores are normalised as per the Commission's notice of 22 May 2019.

Part 3 alone is a fifth of the paper. Computer is another 15. That is where this paper differs from a plain GK test. The topic list for each part is on the syllabus page.

What to do before 10 November

• Find your PET 2025 registration number and check that the mobile and email in PET still work. The OTP goes there.
• Check your CCC status if you want GPO, VDO or Social Welfare Supervisor. A pending CCC on 1 December shuts you out of 1,170 seats.
• Get the EWS certificate dated between 1 April 2026 and 1 December 2026, on income of FY 2025-26, on the UP format of 14 March 2019.
• Write your post list. You select posts in the form and give the order at document check. Pick every post you are eligible for and would actually join.
• Start Part 3 now. Twenty questions on UP history, culture, geography, economy and schemes are the biggest single block in the paper.

Why this one draws a crowd

PET is the gate for every Group C exam UPSSSC holds, so the PET 2025 pool is in lakhs. The Commission will call only 15 times the vacancies to this mains. For 1,784 posts that is roughly 26,760 candidates across categories, plus ties. Your PET score decides whether you sit the paper at all. Your mains score decides the post.
