Three of the posts need CCC, so many applicants have already studied this. The syllabus is close to the CCC course. If you hold CCC, revise from your CCC notes and add UPI, digital payment and cyber-safety basics.
Part 3: Uttar Pradesh (20 marks)
History, culture, art, architecture, festivals, folk dances, literature, regional languages, heritage, social customs, tourism, landscape and environment, natural resources, climate, soil, forests, wildlife, mines and minerals, economy, agriculture, industry, business and employment, polity and administration, current events and the state's achievements.
Twenty marks from one state is a lot. A good UP GK book plus the last 12 months of state news (schemes, districts, rankings, events) is the core. Make your own list of UP's districts, divisions, rivers, national parks and sanctuaries, folk forms by region, and major state schemes. Do not trust a single list from a website without checking the figure against a government source.
How negative marking changes your attempt
With a 0.25 penalty and four options, a pure guess has an expected value of zero. If you can strike out one option, guessing among three becomes slightly positive. If you can strike out two, it is clearly worth it. Leave a question blank only when all four options look equally possible.
The PET is a screen. The mains decides the post. A candidate who answers 80 with 70 right scores 67.5. One who answers 90 with 72 right scores 67.5 too. Accuracy matters as much as speed.
A six-week plan
The exam date is not announced. Applications close on 1 December, so a January or February paper is a fair working assumption, but plan as if you have six weeks.
- Week 1: UP Part 3 basics (history, geography, culture). Hindi grammar: sandhi, samas, upsarg, pratyay.
- Week 2: Computer Part 2 in full. Polity with Panchayati Raj in depth.
- Week 3: Rural development schemes, economy, SDGs. Ten DI sets.
- Week 4: Environment and the Disaster Management Act, 2005. Science and tech. Hindi vocabulary (paryayvachi, vilom, muhavare).
- Week 5: Current events, last 12 months, national and UP. Two full 100-question papers in two hours.
- Week 6: One full paper every two days. Mark every wrong answer and the reason.
Take the full 100-question mock, built on this exact scheme with a 120-minute clock.
