- Headquarters
- Teaneck, New Jersey, USA
- Industry
- IT services, consulting and business process services
Cognizant is a US-listed IT services company with most of its workforce in India. Its business process services teams run insurance, healthcare and banking operations for US clients. Pune's Hinjewadi campus is one of its large delivery sites.

About this role & what walk-ins usually test
An experienced hire for US property and casualty insurance calls: policy servicing, claims and auto or home insurance queries. Interviewers will test what you actually know about insurance, not just your English.
Typical rounds at the venue
- Registration and document check
- HR screening: experience, current salary, notice period
- Operations round: insurance scenario or mock call
- Versant or similar English assessment, depending on the process
Questions you should rehearse
- Which insurance lines have you supported: auto, homeowners, commercial?
- Explain deductible, premium and endorsement to a customer in plain words.
- A customer wants to know why their claim is still pending. Take the call.
- Have you worked US night shifts continuously? For how long?
- What is your current CTC and notice period?
On-the-day tips
- Freshers should not travel for this drive. The job description asks for 1 to 4 years of international insurance voice.
- Bring every payslip and relieving letter. Experience you cannot prove is often not counted.
- Revise your last process: call flow, systems you used, and the metrics you were measured on.
Check the experience requirement first
Several job sites have titled this drive "for freshers". The actual job description asks for 1 to 4 years of experience in international insurance voice support. The designation is Senior Process Executive (SPE), which is an experienced grade at Cognizant.
Experience in these areas is preferred:
- Property and casualty (P&C)
- Auto and homeowners insurance
- Claims and policy servicing
If your experience is in general customer service with no insurance work, you can still try, but expect the operations round to test insurance knowledge.
What the job involves
| Task | Detail from the listing |
|---|---|
| Calls | Inbound and outbound calls on insurance policies, claims and servicing |
| Resolution | Accurate answers within defined timelines |
| Records | Documenting every interaction and updating records |
| Targets | Productivity, quality, compliance and attendance |
| Shift | US night shifts with rotational week-offs |
Terms you should be able to explain
The operations round will often ask you to explain an insurance idea as you would to a caller. Be ready with plain-English versions of these:
- Premium: what the customer pays for the policy, monthly or yearly
- Deductible: the part of a claim the customer pays before insurance pays the rest
- Endorsement: a change made to an existing policy, such as adding a driver or a vehicle
- First notice of loss (FNOL): the first report of an accident or damage that starts a claim
- Declarations page: the summary page of the policy with coverage limits and the insured's details
Our Cognizant insurance voice interview guide has worked examples and mock-call scripts for each.
Getting to the venue
The Academy Building is inside Cognizant's Hinjewadi Phase 3 campus in Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park. Go to the 4th floor, Conference Halls 1 and 2. Sunday traffic is light. From Wakad or Baner, a cab takes 20 to 30 minutes. From Pune station, allow about an hour.
Salary and negotiation
The listing says only "best in industry". For an SPE hire, your offer will usually be based on your current CTC and your test scores. Carry your last three payslips so HR does not have to rely on your word.
