This is the same GS spine as several other APPSC degree papers. Do not spend October only here.
Paper II
This paper is why 104 any-degree posts are not "easy GS".
1. Ramayana. Characters, kandas, dynasties, places.
2. Mahabharata. Characters, parvas, dynasties, places.
3. Bhagavatam. Characters, skandhas, places.
4. Puranas. Basic knowledge, and places named in them.
5. Temple Agamas. Vaishnava: Vaikhanasa, Pancharatra, Chattada Srivaishnava. Saiva: Smart, Adi Saiva, Veera Saiva, Jangama, Kapalika. Mother goddesses: Sakteya.
6. Festivals in different parts of India, and classical fine arts of Indian origin.
7. Vedic culture. Yajnas and yagas, Vedas, Upavedas, Upanishads, dharma in the stages of life.
8. Philosophies and gurus. Alwars; Nayanars; Sankara (Advaita); Ramanuja (Visistadvaita); Madhva (the annexure prints Dvaithadvaitham); Basava (Veera Saiva). In a standard textbook Madhva is Dvaita. On this paper, know both the printed string and the usual name.
9. Family in Hindu society: adoption and succession.
10. Income of temples and charitable institutions, and allocation of endowment funds (Section 57 of Act 30/87).
11. Duties of Executive Officers (Section 29 of Act 30/87).
12. Land records, law on endowments lands, ROR / Pattadar Pass Book Act, and Sections 75 to 86 of Act 30/87.
Items 10 to 12 are statute, not "culture GK". Read the Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987, those sections, in an official or standard annotated copy. A blog list of "20 temple facts" will not replace Section 29.
Section 29 is the EO's job description. Section 57 limits what the institution's money can be spent on. Sections 75 to 86 sit on land. If you cannot say, in two sentences each, what those blocks do, you are not ready.
CPT
G.O.Ms.No.26, G.A. (Ser.B), 24 February 2023. Practical, 60 minutes, 100 marks. Qualifying: 40 OC, 35 BC, 30 SC/ST/PBD.
Part A (20 percent), MCQ: computer components and peripherals; system / application / embedded / proprietary / open-source software; OS, Windows files and printers; basic Linux and Mac commands; internet, IP, upload and download; email; WWW.
Part B: Office suite (MS Office or Libre / Apache Open / Neo Office). Word: formatting, tables, mail merge, headers. Excel: formulae, charts, sort, CSV. PowerPoint: layouts, images, transitions.
Assessment as printed: model document; typing speed 25 percent (may be made mandatory); objects 15; Excel 20; PowerPoint 20.
Fail CPT and 300 CBRT marks do not finish the recruitment the annexure describes.
How to prepare
Split the week: three days Paper II statute and Agamas, two days GS with AP current events, one day CPT typing and a mail-merge.
For Paper II 1-4, use one standard retelling each of the three texts and a Puranas outline, and make place lists (Ayodhya, Lanka, Hastinapura, Dwaraka). For 5-8, a short Agama note and the six guru rows, including the printed Madhva spelling. For 9-12, the Act.
Do not wait for an exam date. 104 posts with no screening means the CBRT is the competition.
Practice on the no-screening rule and Section 29 is on the practice page.
Statute rows versus culture rows
Items 1 to 8 are texts, places, Agamas and gurus. Items 9 to 12 are law. Do not treat Paper II as a temple-quiz booklet.
For 1 to 4, one standard retelling each of Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavatam, plus a Puranas outline, is enough to start. Make place lists: Ayodhya, Chitrakuta, Kishkindha, Lanka; Hastinapura, Indraprastha, Kurukshetra, Dwaraka; and the skandha geography the Bhagavatam actually uses. The annexure asks for characters, kandas or parvas or skandhas, dynasties and places. That is a map, not a sermon.
For 5, write a one-page Agama note. Vaishnava: Vaikhanasa, Pancharatra, Chattada Srivaishnava. Saiva: Smart, Adi Saiva, Veera Saiva, Jangama, Kapalika. Mother goddesses: Sakteya. For 6, festivals across India and classical fine arts of Indian origin. For 7, yajnas, Vedas, Upavedas, Upanishads, ashrama dharma.
For 8, six guru rows: Alwars; Nayanars; Sankara (Advaita); Ramanuja (Visistadvaita); Madhva (the annexure prints Dvaithadvaitham); Basava (Veera Saiva). In a textbook Madhva is Dvaita and Nimbarka is Dvaitadvaita. On this paper, know the printed string.
Item 9 is family, adoption and succession. That is Hindu personal law in outline, not a culture slide.
Items 10 to 12 name Act 30 of 1987. Section 57 is allocation of endowment funds. Section 29 is duties of Executive Officers. Sections 75 to 86 sit with the Record of Rights and Pattadar Pass Book law on endowments land. Read those sections in an official or standard annotated copy. This page will not invent section text the annexure did not reprint.
A candidate who can list the kandas and cannot say what an EO must do under Section 29 is the candidate the commission is sorting out.
CPT is a pass gate
The annexure prints CPT as 60 minutes, 100 marks, practical, G.O.Ms.No.26, 24 February 2023. Qualifying marks: 40 OC, 35 BC, 30 SC, ST and PBD. It is not a third merit paper. Fail it and 300 CBRT marks do not finish the recruitment the annexure describes.
Part A is MCQ, 20 percent: components and peripherals, software types, Windows files and printers, basic Linux and Mac commands, internet, IP, upload and download, email, WWW.
Part B is a live office suite (MS Office or Libre / Apache Open / Neo Office). Assessment as printed: a model document; typing speed 25 percent (may be made mandatory); objects 15; Excel 20; PowerPoint 20. Practise a mail-merge, a formula sheet and a six-slide deck this month. Do not wait for the CBRT date.
There is no screening test. Para 6 of the brief is explicit. 104 posts with a single CBRT means Paper II is the competition. Multi-session papers, if any, are normalised later by a method the commission will notify. Hall tickets and the exam date appear only on psc.ap.gov.in.
Age, zone, community and fee remain in the 16 October 2026 detailed PDF. This syllabus page does not invent those rows.
Paper I will look familiar if you have sat another APPSC degree paper. Do not spend October only there. The 104-post competition is Paper II. A candidate who can do mean, median and mode and cannot name Section 29 is the candidate the annexure was written to stop.
The brief dated 15 September 2026 and the detailed notification dated 16 October 2026 are the two texts that govern this exam. Apply 16 October to 5 November 2026, 11:59 pm. Crucial date for the degree: 16 October. Pay Rs 25,220 to 80,910 as printed. Confirm fee in the detailed PDF.
This is not Group-I (OMR, 24 January 2027), not ASO (statistics), not Forest Beat (Intermediate and a walk). One OTPR can hold many notifications. Each notification is a separate Save and Submit.
Vacancies and the apply path are on the recruitment page.
If you have already submitted 23/2026, do not stop at Paper I notes. Open the Act this week. Write Section 29, Section 57 and the land block in your own words. Then add the place lists and the six guru rows. CPT typing can wait one evening; the statute rows cannot. 104 posts with no screening means everyone who paid sits the same two papers. The filter is Paper II, not a preliminary cut. Hall tickets and the exam date appear only on psc.ap.gov.in. Watch that site, not a third-party "admit card" button. If the paper runs in more than one session, wait for the commission's normalisation note before you compare raw scores with a friend. Raw session marks are not the merit list the annexure describes. Wait for the commission note.
