Question paper pattern
The written test has 25 multiple-choice questions from Windows and Linux, networking, PDF and documents, video conferencing, hardware, and the internet. Time for the written-cum-skill test is 60 minutes.
Marking scheme
Each correct answer is 1 mark. A wrong answer scores zero. There is no negative marking. The qualifying mark in the written test is 10 out of 25. The final call for viva voce uses the combined written and skill marks, in the ratio of 1:3.
Skill test
The skill test is 25 marks. You need 10 to qualify. Practise these on a computer:
- Scan a page and run OCR so the text can be edited.
- Convert a PDF with OCR, then merge two PDFs and split one.
- Write a short letter and a small table in LibreOffice, and export a PDF.
- Read the IP address of your computer and set it for a local network.
- Install a printer driver and check that the printer appears.
The viva voce is 50 marks. You need 20 to qualify. It covers the same computer skills, plus databases and how you deal with people at the counter.
