The work is field work. The SGNP associate deploys camera traps and looks at what a twin tunnel does to wildlife and habitat. The cheetah-project associates plan surveys, analyse data, including spatial work in R where the row asks for it, and write reports. The Keoladeo associates survey amphibians, reptiles and fishes at Bharatpur. The Nicobar assistant collects movement, habitat and genetic samples for the Nicobar megapode, in remote island conditions.
Eligibility
Do not pay the fee until the essential qualification on that row matches the degree you can prove.
The SGNP Project Associate I asks for a four-year bachelor's, or a master's, in wildlife science, zoology, ecology, marine science, environmental science, geoinformatics, life sciences, agriculture or forestry. Desirable experience is field surveys, camera trapping, GIS and linear infrastructure.
The Principal Project Associate on the cheetah project asks for that science background plus eight years of research experience after the degree, or a route the row spells out through a four-year bachelor's and eight years. The Senior Project Associate asks for four years of experience, or a doctorate in science. Project Associate II is a step below that in experience. Read the PDF line for the row you want. The desirable line on those ecology posts is the same cluster: wildlife research, statistics and spatial modelling in R, running a field team, and papers in journals.
Project Assistant on the cheetah project needs a bachelor's in the same science list, or a three-year engineering diploma, and comfort with hard field seasons. The Nicobar assistant needs a bachelor's in science. A master's is preferred, not required. The Keoladeo associate needs a master's in the science list, or a bachelor's in veterinary science.
Selection process
There is no written test in this advertisement. Screening is out of 50 marks, and the top ten people on each position are called for an online interview.
For a Project Assistant, 25 marks are the bachelor's percentage and 25 are relevant specialisation, shown through an internship or earlier work. For Project Associate I, the 25 plus 25 split uses the master's percentage and relevant specialisation. For Project Associate II, Senior Project Associate and Principal Project Associate, the split is 5 marks for the NET qualification named in the note, 25 for post-graduation marks, 10 for research experience, and 10 for publications.
The terms also say the institute can place someone in a lower grade than the one they applied for, if the interview committee recommends it. Selected people have to join within the time given in the offer. Original documents are checked at joining.
Age relaxation printed in the terms is 5 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and 3 years for Other Backward Classes, under the DoPT office memorandum the advertisement cites.
The fee is Rs 500 for General applicants. SC, ST, OBC, EWS and physically challenged applicants pay Rs 100. It is not refunded if you are not shortlisted. Upload the receipt or the form can be rejected.

Educational Qualification
- Each row has its own degree and experience. Read that row before you pay the fee. A master's in wildlife science, zoology, ecology or a related subject fits several Project Associate rows. Project Assistant rows ask for a bachelor's degree, and one row also accepts a 3-year engineering diploma.
- NET or GATE changes the monthly pay on the associate rows that print two rates. It is not a substitute for the degree.
