GPSC Class 1 and Class 2 Syllabus 2026
GPSC preliminary exam pattern for advertisements 42/2026-27 to 56/2026-27: 300 questions, 180 minutes, then interview.

Preliminary test
The test is objective. Unless the Commission decides otherwise, the medium is Gujarati.

Time for the preliminary test is 180 minutes. A candidate who scores below 10 percent is not called for interview.

Interview
After the preliminary result, the Commission checks applications and calls candidates in this ratio.

The final result gives 50 percent weight to the preliminary score, scaled from 300 marks, and 50 percent weight to the interview, which is out of 100. The two halves are combined into a score out of 100.
Subject syllabus
The 200-question paper follows the post. A marine engineering paper is not the paper for Junior Architect or Joint Director of Horticulture. Open the syllabus link inside your own advertisement before you start that half of the prelim.
