Gujarat SC, ST, socially and educationally backward class, and EWS candidates get up to five years, within an upper limit of 45. Women in those categories get up to ten years, and that ten years already includes the five years for women, again within 45. Women candidates get five years, within 45. Ex-servicemen get the years of defence service plus three years. Persons with disability get ten years, within 45. If a reserved candidate applies for an unreserved post, the age relaxation is not given.
How to apply
- Finish One Time Registration at gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in. Upload your photograph and signature there.
- On or after 24 September 2026, 1:00 pm, open one advertisement and submit one form. Read the advertisement number and the post name before you confirm.
- Unreserved candidates pay Rs 100 plus charges, at a post office by challan up to 9 October 2026 during office hours, or online up to 11:59 pm that night. Gujarat SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, ex-servicemen and persons with disability do not pay. Reserved candidates from other states do pay.
- Save the confirmation number. The website stops accepting forms at 11:59 pm on 8 October 2026.
- Do not send the filled form to the Commission now. After the provisional preliminary result, candidates called for scrutiny upload documents on gpsc-iass.gujarat.gov.in.
If you submit more than one form, the last confirmed form is kept. For an unreserved candidate, that means the last confirmed form that includes the fee.
Age proof is the SSCE certificate that shows the date of birth. For a non-creamy layer certificate, Gujarat candidates use the Gujarati format named in the notice. EWS candidates use Annexure-KH, or the Gujarati parishisht, under the state resolution dated 25 January 2019.
Selected candidates for the Marine Engineer and Engineer Surveyor posts become employees of the Gujarat Maritime Board. The detailed advertisement says they are not employees of the Gujarat government.

Educational Qualification
- Each advertisement has its own degree and experience. Do not use one post's qualification for another.
- Marine Engineer, 42/2026-27: a bachelor's degree in marine engineering or mechanical engineering, a Marine Engineer Officer Class I certificate of competency under the Merchant Shipping Act, 2025, and at least 5 years of experience after the first certificate, including at least one year as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on a foreign-going ship.
- Engineer Surveyor, 43/2026-27: the same degree and Class I certificate, with at least 8 years after the first certificate, including at least four years combined as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on a foreign-going ship.
- Both posts also need the computer knowledge required by the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
