The Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre of ISRO, at Valiamala in Thiruvananthapuram, has advertised three Scientist/Engineer-SC posts under Advertisement No. LPSC/03/2026, dated 26 September 2026. Each post is one vacancy, unreserved, at Level 10 (Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500). The pay comes with the central government allowances, the ISRO Merit Promotion Scheme, and pension under NPS or UPS.
Four conditions that remove most applicants
The marks floor is strict. A BE or BTech needs 65 percent aggregate or a CGPA of 6.84. An ME or MTech needs 60 percent or a CGPA of 6.5. The advertisement says there is no rounding and no conversion from CGPA to percentage. If your university gives a CGPA of 6.8, you are not eligible, whatever the conversion formula on your mark sheet says.
The ME or MTech specialisation must match. A general Mechanical MTech is not enough for post 820 or 821. For those, welding or turbo machinery must be the specialisation or a subject in the degree. Keep the transcript that shows the subject, because the interview board will check it.
Age is 30 on 13 October 2026. All three posts are unreserved, so SC, ST and OBC relaxation does not apply here. Only ex-servicemen, PwBD and departmental candidates get relaxation.
The degree must be in hand by 13 October 2026. It must also have been completed in the normal course duration, and not by distance learning.
How selection works
There is a written test first. It has three parts, and you need 50 percent in each part and 50 out of 100 overall.

Candidates are called to interview in a ratio of 1:5, with at least 10 called for each post if that many qualify. The interview needs 60 percent. Final merit gives equal weight, 50 percent each, to the written test and the interview. A tie goes first to the higher written-test score, then to the higher ME or MTech marks, then to the older candidate.
No travel allowance is paid for the written test. Candidates called for the interview are paid second-class rail fare. The interview can be answered in Hindi.
Fee and refund
Everyone pays Rs 750 online. The refund depends on appearing in the written test. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen get the whole amount back. Everyone else gets Rs 500 back. The refund goes to the bank account you enter in the form, so check the IFSC and account number before you submit.

Educational Qualification
- Post 820, Welding: BE or BTech in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, Manufacturing or Material Science, and ME or MTech in Welding Technology, or Mechanical Welding and Sheet Metal Engineering, or Manufacturing, Metallurgy or Production with welding as a subject.
- Post 821, Turbo Machinery: BE or BTech in Mechanical or Aerospace, and ME or MTech in Turbo Machinery, or Thermal and Fluids Engineering or Aerospace Propulsion with turbo machinery as a subject.
- Post 822, Power Electronics: BE or BTech in ECE, E&I, Applied Electronics, EEE, Electrical, Avionics or Power Engineering, and ME or MTech in Power Electronics or one of the power and drives specialisations listed in the advertisement.
- BE or BTech with 65 percent aggregate or CGPA 6.84 out of 10. ME or MTech with 60 percent or CGPA 6.5. There is no rounding off, and a CGPA is not converted to a percentage.
- The degree must be held on 13 October 2026 and completed in the normal course duration. Professional degrees through distance or open learning are not accepted.

How to Apply
- 1Read the detailed bilingual advertisement LPSC/03/2026 on lpsc.gov.in and pick one post code: 820, 821 or 822.
- 2Apply online between 2:00 pm on 29 September and 2:00 pm on 13 October 2026. A separate application is needed for each post.
- 3Upload a JPG photograph of at most 40 KB. The file name must be alphanumeric and no longer than 25 characters.
- 4Pay Rs 750 by 2:00 pm on 14 October 2026. Enter your bank account details correctly, because the refund goes to that account after the written test.
- 5Government employees must bring a no-objection certificate from their employer to the interview.
