Overview

ISRO's Human Space Flight Centre in Bengaluru has advertised four Medical Officer-SD posts (Group A, Pay Level 11) under HSFC:02:RMT:2026, dated 9 October 2026. The packet must reach HSFC by ordinary post on or before 8 November 2026. There is no online form.

The detailed advertisement and Annexure-I form sit on isro.gov.in. Queries: rmt-hsfc@isro.gov.in, phones 080 61458846 / 080 61458864. HSFC is ISRO's lead centre for the Human Space Flight Programme, with work listed in Bioastronautics, Human Space Sciences and Space Habitat Systems.

The careers page says online. The PDF does not

The ISRO careers HTML uses a standard line: "Last Date for Submission of Applications online". The signed PDF is stricter:

  • Ordinary post only. Speed post, courier, email and hand delivery are other modes. The notice says applications received through any mode other than ordinary post will not be entertained.
  • No electronic application. Applications submitted through electronic mode will not be entertained. Emailing the form to the query mailbox does not count as applying.
  • Typed Annexure-I only. A handwritten application will not be accepted. Sign in blue ink.
  • One envelope per post code. If you want Medicine and Aerospace Medicine, send two packets.

Post early. HSFC will not track your cover, and late receipts after 8 November 2026 are out. Packets dated before the 9 October 2026 opening are also out.

Four UR posts, no age cap

There is no upper age limit. You still need second class in MBBS and MD, rotatory internship, and NMC / State Medical Council registration. After selection, a State Council registration must be swapped for an NMC certificate at joining. Distance-learning professional degrees are barred.

Pay is Level 11, Rs 67,700 to Rs 2,08,700, plus Non Practicing Allowance at 20 percent of basic pay, DA, HRA or quarters, TA, NPS or Unified Pension Scheme, and the ISRO Merit Promotion Scheme. The posts are temporary but likely to continue. You can be posted to any ISRO or Department of Space centre.

Work outlines: clinical medicine and cardiometabolic research (code 01); baseline physiological profiling, hypobaric or centrifuge support (code 02); astronaut medical selection, crew flight-surgeon tele-support (code 03). Those lines are indicative, not a closed syllabus.

Screening, then interview only

There is no written test. Shortlisting is by screening, then interview. Interview performance alone decides selection. The printed qualification is only the floor; it does not guarantee a call. You may ask to take the interview in Hindi. Outstation candidates who clear document check get second-class rail or non-AC bus as printed. Bring originals, a government photo ID, and a printed e-admit card (soft copy not allowed).

Everyone pays Rs 750 on BharatKosh / NTRP (Annexure-II). Refunds go only to people who sit the interview, to the account on the form: full Rs 750 for women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen; Rs 500 for others.

Screening rules and the HTML versus PDF trap are on the syllabus page. A short practice set is on the practice page. A related ISRO technical recruitment still open is LPSC Scientist/Engineer-SC.
