Overview
IBPS is hiring a Hindi Officer in Grade E at its Mumbai office. The advertisement number is IBPS/2026-27/04. Registration with the fee of Rs 1,000 is open from 23 September 2026 to 6 October 2026 on ibps.in.
Appointment is against the existing vacancy. IBPS will also keep a wait list for six months. The advertisement does not give a post count.
Job profile
The work is translation of confidential examination questions between Hindi and English, and writing objective and descriptive tests that measure Hindi. You have to type the translated text yourself in MS Word and Excel, in both languages. Experience with AI tools for translation is listed as an added qualification, not as a requirement. The institute can add other duties later.
This is a regular appointment, with a bond. At joining, the selected person signs a service bond of Rs 2 lakh and must stay three years, or pay that amount. Days without pay can lengthen the three years.

The CTC note includes the employer's provident fund, medical benefits, telephone and newspaper reimbursement, canteen subsidy, performance-linked incentive, gratuity and superannuation. LTC, children's education subsidy, housing-loan interest subsidy and the other items in that paragraph follow institute rules at the time of joining. Those are not extra cash you should add on top of the CTC figure yourself.
Eligibility
Age is counted on 1 September 2026. The minimum is 23 and the maximum is 30. In dates, that is born not earlier than 2 September 1996 and not later than 1 September 2003, both dates included. The date of birth on the class 10 certificate is the one IBPS will use.
The degree routes are specific. A master's in Hindi needs English as a major or elective at graduation. A master's in English needs Hindi as a major or elective at graduation. A master's in another subject needs one of those languages as a major or elective and the other as the medium of the degree. One year of translation work in a bank or financial institution is desirable. It is not written as the minimum. Computer skill is the minimum.
Percentages have to be entered to two decimals. If the university gave a CGPA, convert it and, if called later, bring the university's conversion rule. IBPS ignores the fraction in a cutoff sense it describes: 59.99 is treated as less than 60.
Your record also has to be clean in the way clause III describes: no doubtful integrity, no penalty, and no pending case of the CBI or another law-enforcement agency.
Exam pattern
The online test has four sections. Each section has its own time. Unused time does not move to the next section.

A wrong answer deducts one fourth of that question's marks. Reasoning questions are half a mark each, so a wrong one costs 0.125. English and General Awareness questions are one mark, so a wrong one costs 0.25. Hindi questions are 1.5 marks, so a wrong one costs 0.375. Leaving a question blank does not reduce the score.
IBPS will set a minimum in each test and then an overall cutoff. Those numbers are not in the advertisement. The exam may be held only at IBPS in Mumbai, in which case they will try to finish the later stages the same day, or at many centres if the response is large. You pay your own travel. A centre change is not allowed.
After the online exam, shortlisted candidates go to Mumbai for a skill test and item-writing exercise, group exercises and an interview. The advertisement names those stages and does not print their marks or their duration. Documents in that round include the call letter, the application printout, age proof, photo identity, address proof, marksheets, and experience certificates that describe the work. A government or public-sector employee needs a no-objection certificate in original.

- 2Note the provisional registration number and password. You can reopen the form and edit it until you complete registration.
- 3Upload the photograph, signature, left-thumb impression, handwritten declaration, a short resume in PDF, the class 10 certificate, and the documents that prove age, education and experience.
- 4You also have to capture a live photograph on a webcam or phone during registration.
- 5Pay Rs 1,000 online by card, net banking, IMPS, UPI or the other modes the form offers. Keep the e-receipt.
- 6After complete registration, nothing in the form can be changed. Do not send a printout to IBPS.
- 7Submit one application only. If you submit more than one, only the latest complete application is kept and the extra fee is forfeited.
