Who is eligible

  • A graduate in any discipline, passed between 1 January 2023 and 1 September 2026.
  • Aged 20 to 28 on 1 September 2026 (born 2 September 1998 to 1 September 2006). OBC get 3 years, SC and ST 5, PwBD 10.
  • At least 60 percent in class 12 or diploma, or 55 percent for SC, ST and PwBD. No rounding: 59.99 percent is not 60.
  • No earlier apprenticeship, and less than one year of work or training experience after graduation.
  • Ex-servicemen are not eligible.

Merit and the language test

The bank lists every applicant for a state by class 12 or diploma percentage, highest first. If two candidates have the same percentage, the older one is placed higher.

The percentage is total marks in all subjects divided by the maximum marks in all subjects, times 100. If your board gave a CGPA, convert it using the board's own rule, and keep a certificate from the board that states the rule and your percentage.

The merit list uses only what you type into the form. If the documents at verification do not match, the application is disqualified. Enter the percentage exactly as the mark sheet gives it.

You must know the local language of the state you apply for. If your class 10 or class 12 mark sheet or certificate shows that language, you are exempt. Otherwise the bank tests you at document verification, and a candidate who fails is not engaged. A medical fitness check follows.

Stipend and terms

The stipend is Rs 16,650 a month for 12 months. The bank pays Rs 10,500 and the Government of India pays Rs 6,150 through direct benefit transfer to your bank account. You earn one casual leave for each completed month, 12 in total, and can take at most 4 at a time.

An apprentice is not a bank employee. PF, ESI and bonus laws do not apply, and the bank has no obligation to offer a job. At the end you get a NATS joint certificate. A state-and-category waitlist is kept for one year, or until the next engagement, whichever is earlier.

How the merit list works in practice is on the syllabus page.
