The listing asks for 1 to 2 years of experience, any graduate, and four skills: drafting customer emails, good written and spoken English with good typing speed, learning product and process knowledge, and MS Excel and Word. Details are on the Tata Capital Thane walk-in page.

A reply template that works

Every customer reply should do five things in order:

  1. Greet by name. "Dear Mr Patil,"
  2. Acknowledge the issue in one line. "Thank you for writing to us about the EMI deducted twice from your account in October."
  3. Give the answer or the action. State what you checked, what happened and what you have done.
  4. Give a clear next step and time frame. "The extra amount will be credited back to your account within 7 working days."
  5. Close politely. "We regret the inconvenience. Please reply to this email if you need any further help. Regards, Customer Service Team"

Keep it short. Three to six sentences in the body is usually enough. Avoid jargon, avoid long paragraphs, and never promise something you cannot confirm.

Three sample emails

1. EMI deducted twice

"My EMI was deducted twice this month. I want my money back immediately."

Model reply:

Dear Ms Shah,

Thank you for writing to us, and we are sorry for the trouble. We have checked your loan account and can confirm that the October EMI was debited twice on 5 October. We have raised a refund for the extra debit of Rs 8,450. It will be credited to your registered bank account within 7 working days, and you will receive an SMS when it is processed.

Regards, Customer Service Team

2. Foreclosure request

"I want to close my personal loan this month. How much do I need to pay?"

Model reply: explain that a foreclosure statement will be shared, that it shows the principal outstanding, interest up to the closure date and any foreclosure charges as per the loan agreement, and how the customer can request it or pay. Do not quote a figure you have not seen in the system.

3. NOC not received

"I closed my loan two months ago and still have not got my NOC."

Model reply: apologise, confirm the closure date, explain that the NOC is issued after closure and give the date it was or will be dispatched, by post or email. If it is late, say you have escalated it and give a time frame.

Loan terms you must know

TermMeaning
EMIEquated monthly instalment, the fixed monthly repayment
Principal outstandingThe part of the loan amount still to be repaid
ForeclosureRepaying the whole loan before the end of the term
Part-prepaymentPaying a lump sum to reduce the outstanding loan
Statement of account (SOA)A record of all EMIs, charges and payments on the loan
NOCNo-objection certificate, issued when the loan is fully closed
Bounce chargeA fee charged when an EMI debit fails
Mandate (e-NACH)The customer's authorisation for automatic EMI debits from their bank

Excel and typing

The listing asks for MS Excel and Word. Revise:

  • Sort and filter a list of customer cases by date or status
  • VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP to find a customer's details from a table
  • COUNTIF to count open cases by type
  • Basic formatting in Word: headings, bullet lists, tables

For typing, aim for at least 30 words per minute with high accuracy. In email work, a typo in a customer's name or loan number is a real mistake, not a small one.

HR questions

"Tell me about your current role." Describe your process, how many emails or tickets you handle a day, your quality score, and the tools you use.

"How do you handle an angry customer email?" "I read it fully, check the account before replying, acknowledge the problem in the first line, and give a specific answer with a time frame. If I cannot solve it, I escalate it to my supervisor and tell the customer when they will hear back."

"When would you escalate an email?" When it involves a legal threat, a regulatory complaint, a suspected fraud, a request outside your authority, or a repeat complaint that has not been fixed.

"Why Tata Capital?" Talk about working with an established Tata Group lender and building a career in financial services customer care.

Carry your payslips, offer letter and relieving letter. Your offer will depend on your current pay and how you do in the test. Tata Capital does not charge candidates any fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

The role is built around drafting email replies, so expect to write at least one reply to a customer email as part of the process. Practise short, accurate replies with no spelling or grammar mistakes.

The October 2026 Thane listing asks for 1 to 2 years of experience and any graduate. Some sites headline it for freshers too, but carry proof of experience if you have it.
