Firstsource Customer Support Associate Interview Prep (Chennai Walk-in)
Prepare for Firstsource's Chennai fresher walk-in: eligibility checks, the documents that send people home, the listening and typing tests, and answers for HR and operations.

Firstsource's Navallur, Chennai walk-in runs until 30 October 2026 with 300 fresher seats for customer support. The listing is unusually specific about who can apply and what to bring. A wrong degree type or a missing document can end your day at the registration desk, before any interview. This guide helps you avoid that, then prepares you for the rounds.
Venue, timing and contact details are on the Firstsource Chennai walk-in page.
Check these before you travel
| Question | If the answer is yes |
|---|---|

| Are you a 2026 graduate without your sixth-semester result? | Not eligible yet. Wait for the result and provisional certificate. |
| Is your degree a BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA or similar, from 2021 to 2025? | Eligible. |
| Are you a 2026 Arts and Science graduate with the result and provisional certificate? | Eligible. |
The folder you need
Put these in one folder the night before:
- Resume with "Anbu" written at the top, the reference the listing asks for
- PAN card or Aadhaar, original and photocopy
- Original transfer certificate (TC), which the listing calls mandatory
- Degree marksheets for all semesters
- 2026 graduates: sixth-semester result and provisional certificate, four printed copies and two online copies
If your TC is with your college, collect it before you go. A photocopy alone may not be accepted.
Listening and comprehension
The listing asks for "listening and comprehension" as a key skill. Expect a short audio clip or a spoken customer problem, followed by questions such as:
- What is the customer's problem?
- What did the customer already try?
- What does the customer want you to do?
Practise like this:
- Play a 60-second English customer service clip or news clip.
- Without replaying it, write down the main problem, two details and what the speaker wants.
- Check against the clip.
Do this five times a day for three days. The habit to build is listening for the request, not just the topic.
Typing for a voice job
The listing says good typing skills are a must. In voice support, you log every call while talking or straight after. Slow typing increases your handling time, which is one of the numbers you are judged on.
Aim for 25 to 30 words per minute with 90 percent or better accuracy before the drive. Use any free typing practice site for 15 minutes a day. Accuracy matters more than speed in most BPO typing tests, so slow down if your error rate is high.
HR and operations answers
"Tell me about yourself." Keep to under a minute: your name, degree and year, one customer-facing or teamwork example, and why you want this role.
"Are you fine with night and rotational shifts?" The listing is clear that the job is nights and rotational shifts from the office. Show you have thought about it: where you will live, how you will travel, and that the one-way cab of up to 30 km covers your route.
"Why customer support?" "I like solving problems for people, and I want to start in a company that trains freshers properly. Customer support builds communication skills I can grow with."
"Why Firstsource?" Mention that it is a listed company that works with banking, healthcare and telecom clients in the US and UK, and that it trains freshers before they take live calls.
Operations scenario. A team lead may play a customer. Use this order:
- Greet and give your name.
- Let the customer finish.
- Repeat the problem in one sentence.
- Ask for the account or order number.
- Give a clear next step and a timeline.
- Ask if there is anything else, and close.
A sample line for a delayed refund: "I can see the refund was raised on the 10th. It takes up to seven working days, so you should see it by the 19th. I'll add a note to your account, and you'll get an SMS once it's processed."
After the interview
If you are selected, ask for the fixed monthly salary, the in-hand amount, the shift start time, and which direction the cab covers. The listing says only "best in industry" for pay, so get the figure in writing before you resign from anything or move house.
Firstsource does not charge candidates. Ignore anyone asking for a fee to confirm your offer.
