Pattern to confirm

RRB Junior Engineer CBT 1 is a computer-based test. The sections, number of questions, marks and time for each are set in the RRB notice for the cycle. The exam is reported for 27, 28 and 30 October 2026, so this is a short preparation window.

General intelligence and reasoning

  • Analogy, series, classification and coding-decoding.

  • Biology: human body, nutrition, diseases and the environment.

Technical part

The technical paper depends on your post, so study only the branch you applied for.

  • Mechanical: thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, strength of materials, theory of machines and manufacturing processes.
  • Electrical: circuit theory, electrical machines, power systems, measurements, and power electronics basics.

Use the syllabus of your diploma or degree as the base. Revise formulas and one solved example for each topic.

Three-week plan

WeekFocus

Week 2General science and general awareness. Technical subject, two hours a day.
