DRDO RCI Apprentice 2027: Eligibility, Two Portals and Named Trades

There is no written syllabus

Shortlisting is academic merit. An interview is held if RCI requires it. Reservation follows the Apprentices Act and the Rules of 2019 and 2025. Email is how the shortlist arrives.

That is the whole official selection paragraph. The preparation that actually matters is (1) not being rejected on eligibility and (2) being able to talk about the named trade if an interview is called.

Bars that stop the form

The diploma row does not include Aeronautical, Aerospace or Civil. Those three appear only in the graduate row. Applying a civil diploma against this advertisement is a misfit.

If an interview is called

RCI is the missile-complex laboratory at Vignyana Kancha. The interview, if held, is a check that the degree, diploma or ITI matches the work, not a UPSC-style general paper.

Electronics, ECE, EEE, electronic-mechanic, electrician. Ohm's law, series and parallel, transformer turns ratio, PN junction, rectifier, logic gates, three-phase versus single-phase, earthing, fuse versus MCB.

Mechanical, fitter, turner, machinist, grinder, draughtsman (mech), welder. Fits and tolerances, lathe operations, welding joints and defects (porosity, undercut, incomplete penetration), first-angle versus third-angle projection, cutting-speed formula πDN/1000.

CSE and COPA. OS versus application, RAM versus storage, IP versus MAC, what a compiler does, basic SQL SELECT, why Aadhaar seeding is a Direct Benefit Transfer requirement (you should be able to say this in one sentence because your stipend uses it).

Chemical, metallurgical, civil, aeronautical / aerospace, safety, instrumentation, diesel mechanic. Stick to the last-year core of that course: unit operations, Fe-C diagram in outline, RCC versus PCC, lift and drag, factory safety and PPE, sensors and 4-20 mA loops, four-stroke diesel cycle. One clean explanation beats a memorised list.

Documents at joining include Aadhaar (mandatory), the Aadhaar-seeded passbook, medical fitness from a Government Civil Assistant Surgeon, and police verification from the last one-year residence or the permanent address. There is no hostel and no job at the end of the year.
