CSIR-TKDL 08/2026: Written Test and What to Revise

Advertisement TKDL/08/2026 does hold a written test. It does not print the chapters, the number of questions, the marks, or a negative-marking rule. The test is real, the chapters are not printed

You report at the address in the advertisement, at the time printed for that code. Bring originals, two photographs, a set of copies, and a biodata typed on A4 paper. Then wait. The instruction is to stay until you are told the result, unless the staff say otherwise.

There is no TA or DA. A candidate who travels to the wrong city, because two IT posts share a date but not a city, has lost the day. Chennai and Delhi are both 9:00 am on 14 October. They are not the same room.

Information technology

The senior post in Delhi, TKD3901, wants production experience: Java and later versions, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, AngularJS, Bootstrap, jQuery, REST, and either JBoss and Tomcat or the administration of Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including migration. Git is named. Data-science exposure is an advantage, not the essential line.

The data-science associate posts in Chennai and Hyderabad, TKC3901 and TKH3901, name Python, SQL, machine learning, analysis and visualisation, statistical modelling, and familiarity with cloud and big-data tools. The degree can be computer science, information technology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or electronics, or an MCA.

The associate IT posts in Jammu, Leh, Srinagar and Palampur have two desirable tracks. One is the Java stack: Spring, Jasper, Struts, Hibernate, Maven, REST, SOAP, and an IDE such as Eclipse, NetBeans or IntelliJ. The other is server administration: RHEL 7 or later, nginx, Tomcat, operating-system upgrade, performance, licensing, patching, vulnerability remediation, Java web servers, hardening and backups. Revise the track you actually work in. The written test has no printed split between the two.

If the paper follows the desirable list, these are the distinctions worth having ready. Spring is the framework the senior Delhi post names for MVC. Hibernate maps Java objects to rows. PostgreSQL is the database named alongside Oracle and SQL Server, including migration. REST is the HTTP style named for the services. Git is named for the senior post. AngularJS, Bootstrap, jQuery and JDBC are on that same Delhi list. They are older parts of a stack, and the advertisement still prints them, so a candidate who only knows a current framework should still be able to say what each of those names does.

On the data-science posts, TKC3901 and TKH3901, the desirable line changes: Python, SQL, machine learning, analysis and visualisation, statistical modelling, and cloud or big-data tools. Java is also named there. Do not answer a Python question with the Delhi server-administration track.

The medicine and language posts

Ayurveda associate posts need BAMS. The senior Ayurveda posts need BAMS with three years of research and development, or MD Ayurveda with two years. Sanskrit or Malayalam is a preference on the senior Delhi Ayurveda posts, not a substitute for the degree.

Unani posts need BUMS. Arabic or Persian is a preference. Sowa Rigpa posts need a bachelor's in Sowa Rigpa medicine, and the senior post at Leh adds the same three-year or MD-plus-two-year pattern. Siddha posts need BSMS, with the same pattern for the senior posts in Chennai.

Patent posts need a master's in chemical or biological sciences, bioinformatics or cheminformatics. The senior posts add three years of research, or a doctorate with two years. The desirable line is patent analytics, a postgraduate diploma in intellectual property, and written English. TKDL exists so that a published traditional practice can be shown as prior art. Be able to describe a search: the formulation or the plant, where it is already recorded, and why that record is earlier than the claim. A general chemistry paper is the wrong revision. The patent codes are TKD3904 and TKD3905 in Delhi on 23 October, and TKH3903 and TKH3904 in Hyderabad the same morning at 9:30.

The Sanskrit senior post needs a master's with three years, or a doctorate with two. The desirable line is traditional medical texts and the names of diseases and plants. The yoga posts need a master's in yoga, and nothing further is printed as essential.

Preference across the advertisement also goes to candidates who can work in the languages the post needs, and who can use a computer and ordinary software. That line is in addition to the degree. It does not replace it.
