The form closed at 11:00 pm on 30 September 2026. The correction window closed on 10 October 2026. If you already applied, the date that matters is Paper-I from 20 to 28 November 2026, fixed by SSC's Important Notice dated 1 October 2026.
The three jobs
| Post | Classification | Who can hold it | Posts in the notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sub-Inspector (Executive), Delhi Police | Group C, Level 6 | Men and women. Men need an LMV licence (motorcycle and car) on the PET date. | 205 men, 112 women |
| Sub-Inspector (GD), CAPFs | Group B, non-gazetted, Level 6 | Men and women. All-India posting. | 1,173 men, 147 women |
| Sub-Inspector (Fire), CISF | Group B, non-gazetted, Level 6 | Men only. Science degree or a listed engineering diploma. | 234 |
Pay for all three is Level 6: Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400. CAPF and CISF Fire posts carry All India Service Liability. Delhi Police posts do not.
An SI (GD) in CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF or SSB commands a section. The posting is law and order, border or industrial security, according to the force you join. An SI (Executive) in Delhi Police works a station: investigations, beat and court work in Delhi. An SI (Fire) in CISF runs fire crews at industrial and airport units.
Vacancies
Delhi Police, male (205): open 184, ESM others 12, ESM special category 9.
Delhi Police, female (112): open only.
SI (GD) in CAPFs (1,320):
| Force | Men | Women | Force total |
|---|---|---|---|
| CRPF | 225 | 29 | 254 |
| BSF | 435 | 22 | 457 |
| ITBP | 159 | 28 | 187 |
| CISF | 200 | 50 | 250 |
| SSB | 154 | 18 | 172 |
| All CAPFs | 1,173 | 147 | 1,320 |
About 10 percent of CAPF vacancies are reserved for ex-servicemen inside those totals.
SI (Fire), CISF, men (234): UR 74, OBC 75, SC 52, ST 16, EWS 17, with 18 ESM inside the 234.
SSC does not collect state-wise vacancies. It does not reallocate a candidate who fails a post-specific physical, medical or licence test after allotment. Rank preferences in the order you would actually accept. The online option form for posts and forces is taken after Paper-II, not now.
A Delhi-list OBC certificate that is not on the Central OBC list counts only for Delhi Police, not for CAPF posts.
Age and qualification
For Delhi Police and CAPF GD, age is 20 to 25 on 1 August 2026. For CISF Fire it is 18 to 30. SC and ST get 5 years, OBC 3. Delhi Police departmental candidates and specified women get the extra bands in para 5.3.
The degree (or the Fire diploma) must have been declared on or before 30 September 2026. Male Delhi Police applicants need a valid LMV licence for motorcycle and car on the PET date, not a learner licence and not an application receipt.
Selection in brief
All four stages are mandatory:
- Paper-I, 1 hour, 100 questions, 100 marks, four parts of 25, each locked to a 15-minute timer. Negative marking 0.25.
- Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test, qualifying.
- Paper-II, 160 questions, 320 marks, 2 hours. Reasoning, GK and quant: 20 questions, 40 marks, 20-minute timer each. English: 100 questions, 200 marks, 1 hour. Negative marking 0.50. Higher difficulty than Paper-I.
- Detailed Medical Examination.
Paper-I (including NCC bonus) only shortlists you for PST and PET. Paper-II (including NCC bonus) shortlists you for the medical. Final selection and allocation of post or force use Paper-II marks, including NCC bonus on that paper, plus the preference you file after Paper-II.
NCC certificate holders get bonus marks on each paper: 5 percent of that paper's maximum for C (5 marks on Paper-I, 16 on Paper-II), 3 percent for B, 2 percent for A. The certificate must have been held on 30 September 2026. Bonus is added to the normalised score.
If two candidates have the same Paper-I plus Paper-II total, the notice breaks the tie by Paper-II total, then English in Paper-II, then older candidate, then name. There is no re-evaluation.
Height, chest, PET times, medical rules and the topic list are on the syllabus page. Twelve questions on dates, PET, the licence rule and Paper-II merit are on the practice page.
Physical tests you should already be running
PST and PET are qualifying. Marks do not join the merit list. Fail them and Paper-II does not save you. Ex-servicemen skip PET only. They still need the written papers, the height and chest standards, and the medical.
Height, men, Delhi Police and CAPF GD, general row: 170 cm, chest 80 cm expanding to 85 cm. Hill and specified communities 165 cm. CAPF Scheduled Tribes 162.5 cm. CAPF ST of the North East and Gorkha rows go to 157 cm. CISF Fire chest on the general row is 81 / 86 cm.
Height, women, general row: 157 cm. Hill row 155 cm. Scheduled Tribes 154 cm. Women have no chest minimum. Weight should correspond to height.
PET, men: 100 m in 16 seconds; 1.6 km in 6.5 minutes; long jump 3.65 m in 3 chances; high jump 1.2 m in 3 chances; shot put (16 lb) 4.5 m in 3 chances.
PET, women: 100 m in 18 seconds; 800 m in 4 minutes; long jump 2.7 m; high jump 0.9 m.
A same-day appeal sits on the PST ground if you fail height or chest. Pregnant candidates who declare the pregnancy are held as temporarily unfit and re-tested six weeks after confinement; the vacancy is kept. A false "not pregnant" declaration leaves the risk with the candidate.
Sixteen seconds for 100 m and 6.5 minutes for 1.6 km are failed in December by people who only ran after Paper-I. Train three days a week from now. Confirm height with a stadiometer if you are near 170 cm or 157 cm.
Medical and tattoos
Everyone who qualifies Paper-II sits a Detailed Medical Examination. Review medical, if you fail DME, is usually the next day. The review board's decision is final.
Eyes: near vision N6 / N9, distant 6/6 / 6/9, both eyes, without glasses or surgery to improve acuity. Knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein and squint fail you. You need high colour vision.
Tattoos: religious symbols or a name, as in the Indian Army, on the inner left forearm or the back of the hands, smaller than one-fourth of that part. Other sites and sizes fail the medical.
If you have already applied
City and admit card. SSC uploads city details about 10 days before the paper and the admit card 2 to 3 days before your shift, on the regional website named on your form. Print the admission certificate. Carry two recent photographs and a photo ID whose date of birth matches the admit card. Candidates without Aadhaar authentication report two hours early.
Answer key. After Paper-I, tentative keys go on ssc.gov.in. A challenge costs Rs 50 a question, not refunded. Email and post are not taken.
Licence. Male Delhi Police applicants: the LMV motorcycle-and-car licence must exist on the PET date. If you do not have it, you remain in the CAPF pool only.
NCC. If you hold A, B or C, check that the form recorded it. Five percent of 320 marks on Paper-II is 16 marks. That is enough to change a cut-off.
Preferences. The force-and-post form opens after Paper-II. Do not rank CISF Fire if you lack the science degree or the listed diploma. Do not rank Delhi Police if you lack the licence or you will not serve only in Delhi. SSC will not slide you to your next choice after a failed licence, PET or medical.
Paper-II English. One hundred questions in one hour, 200 of the 320 marks. That paper is the one students who only drilled 15-minute Paper-I parts discover too late. Start longer comprehension and grammar sets now, at a higher difficulty than Paper-I.
After Paper-I. SSC shortlists for PST and PET on Paper-I marks, including NCC bonus. Only those who qualify PST and PET sit Paper-II. After Paper-II, SSC takes the online option form for posts and forces, then calls you for document verification and the medical. Final selection is Paper-II, including NCC bonus on that paper. Certificates for the degree, caste or EWS, and the LMV licence are checked then, not at Paper-I. Keep the originals ready. A claim on the form that a certificate cannot support is cancelled at that stage.
What you cannot take in. The admission certificate will list banned items. Treat phones, watches, calculators, notes and Bluetooth as banned unless the certificate says otherwise. SSC will not store them for you.
