Age: 27, and no service relaxation
You must be 18 and under 27 on 1 June 2026, born between 2 June 1999 and 1 June 2008. The relaxations follow Delhi rules:
- SC and ST: 5 years. OBC: 3 years, only for OBC communities notified by the Delhi government. An OBC candidate from another state applies as UR.
- PwBD: 10 years (UR and EWS), 13 (OBC), 15 (SC and ST).
- Ex-servicemen: military service plus 3 years, up to 55.
- Government employees get nothing extra. The advertisement says the Delhi District Courts Rules, 2012 have no provision for it.
Written test, then a 15-mark interview
The written test is 100 questions in 120 minutes: 25 each in English, Hindi, General Knowledge and Arithmetic, with 0.25 negative marking. You need 50 to qualify as UR or EWS and 45 as OBC (Delhi), SC, ST, PwBD or ex-serviceman. Up to 10 times the vacancies then go to a 15-mark interview with no pass mark, and final merit adds the two.
The full pattern, shortlist numbers and tie-break rule are on the syllabus page.
Fee and exam-day rules
The fee is Rs 100, paid through SBI e-pay only. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen do not pay. An ex-serviceman who already took a civil job using ESM reservation must pay.
On exam day, DSSSB's dress code applies: light half-sleeve clothes without big buttons or badges, and slippers or low-heeled sandals. Shoes are not allowed. There is no re-evaluation of answer sheets.
Try the timed practice set with the 0.25 penalty switched on.
